This website is to inform the public about the progress of creating a Purple Heart Memorial in Montville, NJ. The memorial site will be located in Montville, NJ on property provided by the Board of Education. The monument site will be on the corner of Horseneck Road and the entrance to the High School. This prominent location will make the memorial visible Every Day to the thousands of township students, teachers, parents and siblings as well as visiting sports teams, coaches and parents that enter the High School Grounds. The project is being done with the support of the Military Order of the Purple Heart (M.O.P.H.), the Boy Scouts of America, Montville Troop #74, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5481, Vietnam Veterans of America - Chapter 510, Montville Township and the Montville Township Board of Education, as well as many other individuals and organizations. The site will be updated regularly with progress towards completion of the Memorial and its Dedication, estimated for early 2007. A 24" x 36" Landscape Design will soon be on display at the Montville High School, Library, and Municipal building soon!

Work will begin at the site in March (2007). Work will be performed by Chux Landscaping, Salomone Brothers, Inc. and the Boy Scouts from Troop 74.

Mr. Anthony Pio Costa III has generously donated car wash certificates for the P. C. Junction Car Wash located just off Route 46 West at Bloomfield Avenue on the Fairfield/Montville border. The certificate entitles you to a car wash and hot wax. The certificates are available for a donation of $10.00 each. All donations will be used to create the Purple Heart Memorial. If you would like to purchase certificates or make a tax-exempt donation, please send a check payable to MOPH or Military Order of the Purple Heart and indicate how many certificates you would like.
